Each month our Activity Directors put out the Taylor Tattler, a newsletter for clients. Here are a few of the highlights from this month’s issue.
Thanks, Keller Williams!
In honor of National RED (Renew, Energize, and Donate) Day, the folks at Keller Williams donated their time to the Center on May 10th. Armed with smiles and festive red t-shirts, they cleaned, painted, landscaped…and even barbequed some lunch for us.
Staying Cool all Summer Long
Summer is here (although it doesn’t officially start until June 20th), and the weather has really started to heat up! When the mercury rises towards the triple digits, we can keep ourselves healthy and safe by dressing appropriately, drinking lots of water, and limiting our time in the sun. An ice-cold lemonade is sounding good right about now…
Always Something to Celebrate
June is just full of landmarks and holidays, and we celebrate all of them. They include Flag Day on the 14th, Father’s Day on the 17th, and the first day of summer on the 20th. Also, the Corvette turns 59 on the 30th!
Got Milk? June is Dairy Month!
Dairy products are delicious, and we have good reason to love them—they help to fight disease! The risks of osteoporosis, high blood pressure, and obesity can all be reduced by drinking milk. We’ve got trivia, too…did you know that it takes 25 gallons of milk to make just nine gallons of ice-cream? Also, the Greeks eat more cheese than any other country—they average 54 pounds per person per year. Now that’s a lot of Feta!

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and
said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her
ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched
her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I
had to tell someone!
