Q&A: Is Adult Day Health Care for You?

Welcome back to our Q&A series! We’re working to demystify Adult Day Heath Care one week at a time. Today, we’ll be telling you a little bit more about the people we serve.

Who can benefit from the Center’s active program of care and rehabilitation?

The individuals who attend the Peg Taylor Center have a wide range of health concerns. Many want to continue their rehabilitation after a stroke or injury; others need help with managing the many health issues created by diabetes. Some come to us with cardiac or respiratory illness, or are coping with memory loss.

And then there are those people who are simply looking for new ways of remaining active and enjoying a great day full of  friendship, while receiving needed help with mobility assistance and nursing care, such as monitoring of blood pressures and medications, and active support when problems arise that need to be addressed.

Because there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution to improve health after an illness, Peg Taylor Center participants and their families work closely with our team  of nurses, social workers and therapists, under the guidance of their personal physicians, to develop an individualized treatment plan. We strive to address both physical and emotional health, providing a support structure through which our clients can maintain a positive quality of life.

Thanks for joining us! Check back the first Thursday in July, when we’ll discuss the ideal timing for starting at the Center. In the meantime, happy Memorial Day!
